Vol. 1 was released erratically over a period of 14 years. After the series concluded, the Hernandez bros. continued their respective storylines in the following:
Jaime: “Whoa Nellie” (1996), “Maggie and Hopey Color Special” (1997) and “Penny Century” (1997 – 2000)
Gilbert: “New Love” (1996 – 97), “Luba” (1998 – 2004) and “Luba’s Comics and Stories” (2000 – 2006)

Publication history:
Vol. 1: 1982 – 1996 (50 issues in magazine format)
Vol. 2: 2001 – 2007 (20 issues in standard US comic book periodical format)
Vol. 3: 2008 – 2016 (8 issues as Love and Rockets: New Stories in trade paperback format)
Vol. 4: 2016 – (ongoing in same oversize format as vol. 1)
